You know it’s a slow news day when writer Michael T. Kennedy makes the headlines. Who the hell is Kennedy, you ask? Why, he’s the dude that’s supposedly writing SCREAM 4, that’s who! Wait–what???
While not officially on board, Kennedy wrote a script or a treatment of some sort of his idea of SCREAM 4, and apparently it’s one the producers are actually considering to greenlight. Kennedy recently chatted with Sequel-Buzz about the sequel, and had this to say on his take on part 4:
…the theme is about redemption on all fronts. For Sidney, for Dewey & Gale, and for some of the new characters. The thing I wanted to do more than anything was base it in reality as well as have our villain use the old formula but with new twists. I think what twists I developed will suprise the fans…
Ah, the gang’s all back? But wait… then why not get Kevin Williamson in there to actually write the motherf*cker? Why need Kennedy when we all know Williamson has plenty of time on his hands. And have they locked down Wes Craven to direct and Neve Campbell to return as Sidney? Again, not like their doors are being knocked down with offers, so why the hell not?
