Sea of Savini

Gore FX extraordinaire, Tom Savini (above), has an acting role in a new, blood-soaked horror/satire coming up called SEA OF DUST that just caught my eye in a big way! You’ll totally see what I mean after you check out the sick-ass teaser trailer here. Holy shite! We’re talking loads of gruesome NSFW redness, campy music, tortured babes, and so much more! And it’s all shot to look like a gritty, grindhouse-esque trailer! It seems somewhat reminiscent of the cult classic BLOODSUCKING FREAKS.

In case you didn’t already jump on over to the trailer, I’ll reward you with a description of the plot: An all-powerful evil threatens to savage a village. As the young and innocent are heinously tortured, an intrepid few search for an answer, besieged by the maniacal Prester John (Savini) and his demonic disciple Anna (Ingrid Pitt) who long to sacrifice the “psychologically vulnerable” on the altar of evil.

Say no more! I’m there! The flick is being called an homage to the classic Hammer Films of the 50’s & 60’s as well as a loving tribute to the works of Mario Bava (BLACK SUNDAY, BLACK SABBATH). In addition to Savini and Pitt, it also stars Troy Holland, Sarah Dauber, Darby Totten, and Stuart Rubin. It was written and directed by Scott Blunt and is said to feature mythical monsters, cannibalistic harpies, zombie assassins, torture dungeons, possessions, evil aristocrats, and mind-boggling FX by Josh Turi (WENDIGO). What more do you need?!

Savini acted in PLANET TERROR with Rose McGowan abutt, I mean, above.
