The Hollywood Reporter is confirming a story that has been floating around for a few weeks now: Sean Bean (THE LORD OF THE RINGS, THE HITCHER) is in Universal’s DEATH RACE 2. While the article doesn’t specify his character, the chatter is that he’s playing a villainous mob boss and “Frankenstein’s” (Luke Goss) main adversary.

The prequel is serving as the origin story for the character named Frankenstein, a convicted cop killer (Goss) in a declining American Empire where a racing reality show is about to be born in the country’s corrupt prison system.
