An international trailer for THE GUNMAN has been released, providing us with a new look at the upcoming Pierre Morel (FROM PARIS WITH LOVE, TAKEN) directed action flick. Based on the Jean-Patrick Manchette novel The Prone Gunman, the film stars Sean Penn, Javier Bardem, Idris Elba and Ray Winstone, and will follow a former special forces soldier and military contractor suffering from PTSD (Penn) who must go on the run in order to clear his name.

"Let the real hunt begin!"

Does THE GUNMAN look like a TAKEN ripoff? A little. Is the plot pretty generic? Yup, but I'm not expecting Pierre Morel's new film to reinvent the action thriller genre. All I want is a fun movie featuring Sean Penn running, gunning and fighting all over the place, and it appears that's exactly what we'll be getting with THE GUNMAN.

THE GUNMAN is set to be released on March 20, 2015.
