Did you guys know there was a supernatural comedy in the works from David Dobkin and Will Ferrell? The flick is called NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH and had Dobkin attached to direct with Ferrell starring at one point. Well that’s gone right out the window.
You see Dobkin and Ferrell left the project last summer, but worry not folks! According to Variety it seems NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH is still heading our way, this time with Peter Segal directing. The director is currently in talks with Twentieth Century Fox to helm WATCH, which is about a newcomer to a community who joins the neighborhood watch and discovers supernatural elements are afoot. Jared Stern penned the original screenplay with Shawn Levy producing.
Mind you Segal (above) isn’t a done deal yet and WATCH is still looking for a name to star. Hopefully things start falling into place soon and we can get a better idea of what to expect from NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH. Is this one going to be strictly a comedy or will it have enough supernatural ‘umph’ to catch our interest? For some reason the fact that Ferrell was attached at one point has me doubting this one… Anyway be sure to keep it here for more on NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH as we hear it.
