Arseface Preacher AMC Seth Rogen TV Series

Within the pages of their incredible 1995 – 2000 comic book Preacher, writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon created an unforgettable character known as Arseface, a teenager left terribly disfigured by an unsuccessful suicide attempt.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are now bringing Arseface, a.k.a. Eugene Root, to the small screen, executive producing and directing the pilot episode for a Preacher television series that will air on AMC. The live action Arseface is played by Ian Colletti, and over the weekend Rogen took to his Twitter account to share an image of the character that can be viewed below.

The show's pilot was written by Sam Catlin, who also serves as showrunner. Colletti's co-stars include Dominic Cooper, Joe Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Elizabeth Perkins, Tom Brooke, Jamie Anne Allman, Derek Wilson, Ricky Mabe, and Jackie Earle Haley.

Preacher centers on

Jesse Custer (Cooper) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.

Colletti's Arseface isn't quite as disfigured as his comic book counterpart, but he does appear to be a reasonable representation of the character. We'll get our chance to see this Arseface in action when AMC airs the first episode of Preacher on Sunday, May 22 at 10pm.
