SHARKNADO 2 is currently in production in New York City, with Ian Ziering and Tara Reid reprising their incredibly memorable roles from the first unexpectedly popular comedy-horror flick. And while we can't pretend anyone actually cares much about this goof – other than Syfy, of course – it's still our duty to keep you informed on the doings of the sequel.

The New York Daily News is reporting that "Taxi" and INDEPENDENCE DAY star Judd Hirsch has joined SHARKNADO 2 as a a cab driver named Ben who ferries Fin (Ziering) and others around town. Obviously, this is a nod to Hirsch's popular role on the sitcom "Taxi"; that's the hight of cleverness on the project.

In SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE, a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites – and only Fin and April can save the Big Apple.

SHARKNADO 2 is also looking to recruit NYC celebs, such as meteorologists and even a former Mayor. Also, Gary Dell'abate, Howard Stern's producer (aka Baba Booey!).
