Shazam’s David F. Sandberg returns to horror with The Culling

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

David F. Sandberg has had an interesting career, as it began by making viral YouTube horror shorts with his wife Lotta Losten, turning one into the feature film LIGHTS OUT. After that was a box-office success, he followed it up with another horror feature – ANNABELLE: CREATION – then went on to direct the big-budget SHAZAM! film.

Now, as Sandberg is developing a follow-up to SHAZAM!, he is also returning to horror with the film THE CULLING from Lionsgate. Here's the official synopsis:

The film will follow a troubled priest who confines himself to a remote cabin in the middle of the woods where he attempts to make a last stand against the demon that terrorized his family when he was a child.

No official start or release date announced as of yet, but we'll definitely keep you posted as more information comes out!

So what do you guys think? Fans of Sandberg's work? If so, excited for his upcoming project? Either way sound off below!
