Sherlock creator Steven Moffat challenges fans to play detective and figure out the source for season 3’s episodes

SHERLOCK may not be returning to the airwaves until just about a year from now, but showrunners Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are already teasing fans with the possible plots for the trilogy of episodes of the third series.

Moffat posted on Twitter today and again at the Edinburgh TV Festival that the three words for fans to slobber over are as follows: Rat, Wedding, Bow.

The good fellows over at Collider went ahead and did the legwork for us and found the likely source stories will be The Giant Rat of Sumatra, The Noble Bachelor, and His Last Bow. In keeping with the first two seasons, the stories will likely only share a basic connection with the original story and then venture into an entirely new adventure for Holmes and Watson.

I cannot speak highly enough of how fantastic SHERLOCK is. Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are beginning the upward climb to superstardom thanks to the show. Both will appear in the upcoming HOBBIT movies and Cumberbatch will star in JJ Abrams STAR TREK 2 next year.

If you have not seen SHERLOCK yet, you owe it to yourself to get caught up with one of the best shows on television in the world. I would say the quality rivals many movies that are released in theaters. Top notch acting and writing that makes the Guy Ritchie SHERLOCK HOLMES series look lame.
