Shoot ‘Em Up shoots

MONSTER MAN was good gory fun for a bargain bin DVD (and even though the main characters were dicks). New Line must have thought that too, since they had signed director Michael Davis to do his action flick SHOOT ‘EM UP (or as video game fans say, shmup).

Today, New Line reports that said action flick has begun principal photography in Toronto (which is kind of ironic, if you keep up with the news). Starring Clive Owen, Monica Bellucci, Paul Giamatti, Greg Bryk, Stephen McHattie and Daniel Pilon, the film is said to be one of the most ass-kicking, mind blowing action flicks ever, with intense shoot outs left and right. Better than HARD BOILED? We’ll see. Owen plays a man named Mr. Smith (no relation to Brad Pitt), who delivers a woman’s baby during a shootout, and is then called upon to protect the newborn from the army of gunmen.
