Driller Killer Ammon reported last week during the BUZZ-SAW that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed the specs and cover art for probably the most faithful video-game-to-film adaptation I’ve ever seen, SILENT HILL.
Set for August 22nd, the film will arrive in both anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen editions, each with DD 5.1 tracks. Bonus materials include a six-part Silent Hill Production Diary documentary, which features “Silent Hill Origins,” “Casting Silent Hill,” “Building Silent Hill,” “Stars and Stunts,” “Constructing The Creepy Creatures” and “Creature Choreography.”
Unfortunately, no word on whether the trailer will be included, nor commentary by director Christophe Gans. Then again, they could leave that for *DOUBLE DIP ALERT* another release down the road, complete with the extended version of the film. Plus, the artwork is underwhelming, complete with the weak tagline (why couldn’t they use the line from the onesheet?). Revision time!
