Silent Night, Deadly Night sequels to get a triple feature Vestron Video Blu-ray release

The classic Christmas slasher Silent Night, Deadly Night is already available on Blu-ray (pick up a copy HERE), and so is its stock footage filled sequel Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 (you can buy that one HERE) – and pretty soon the oddball sequels Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out, Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation, and Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker will be joining them! All three of the movies are getting the Vestron Video Collector’s Series treatment, and you won’t have to buy three different items to collect all of them. This is going to be a triple feature release.

Dawn of the Discs reports that “All 3 films will come together in one package, will be presented in their original aspect ratio and will feature new special features for each film.” Details on the special features haven’t been revealed. Nor has the release date.

Directed by Monte Hellman from a screenplay by Carlos Laszlo, Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out was originally released in 1989 and has the following synopsis:

Dr.Newbury has saved the life of the hideously injured Ricky Caldwell. The doctor has encased his patient’s explosive brain inside a Plexiglas cap, yet he has failed to revive him from his deep coma. In Newbury’s attempt to reach the comatose victim’s mind, he connects Ricky’s brain waves to a gifted clairvoyant, Laura Anderson, who unexpectedly taps into the dark and twisted realm of his haunted dreams. Ghastly things begin to happen and Detective Connolly must fight to stop the dangerous experiment.

Directed by Brian Yuzna from a screenplay by Woody Keith, Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation was released in 1990 and told the following story:

The initiation is a bizarre, horrific ritual, which occurs every time this welcoming committee from hell needs a new member. The evil responsibility belongs to Fima and her demented assistant Ricky. They approach the task with a vengeance. Eternal life, it seems, requires no small sacrifice. Together, they find a young reporter named Kim. She’s smart, beautiful, inquisitive, everything but willing to join their unholy club… and no wonder. Membership lasts an eternity. And you can imagine the dues.

Brian Yuzna scripted 1991’s Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker with the film’s director Martin Kitrosser. The synopsis:

The biggest surprises come in The Toy Maker’s packages. In fact, you could say they’re toys to die for! As the story begins, it looks like a fright Christmas for young Derek Quinn. He’s seen what living horrors lurk in the brightly wrapped boxes from Joe Petto’s shop – an experience that left him mute. Now he can’t even scream when the deadly toys come to life again in his own house. Who’s behind the terror? Is it jolly Joe, his mysterious son Pino, or even the strange newcomer named Noah? Don’t wait another moment to find out. This one’s all wrapped up with one place to go: your home.
