Well, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but another zombie-themed movie full of Christmas cheer! I apologize for my lame rhyme, but I wanted to find a fitting way to begin this article. You see, I am for some reason, a huge fan of holiday horror. I can’t fully explain why. It’s just something about the thrill of a fright flick coupled with the warm luster of seasonal spirit: two opposite, but fun entities combined to form one super spectacle of enjoyment.
Anyways, the latest sack of scares to escape from Santa’s sleigh is called SILENT NIGHT, ZOMBIE NIGHT. That makes two holiday zombie flicks for this year (I last reported on the other, Tiffany Shepis’s (below) 12-24, here). Weird, huh? But cool! Here’s ZOMBIE NIGHT’s plot:
During the holidays, a creature outbreak traps L.A.P.D. Officer Frank Talbot with his angry former partner and soon to be ex-wife.
Sounds like QUARANTINE meets DIE HARD. Works for me. The flick is being directed by Sean Cain and is looking to be fast-tracked for a 2009 theatrical release before a worldwide DVD release. It will star Lew Temple (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), Felissa Rose (SLEEPAWAY CAMP), and Vernon Wells.
