The Simpsons Movie A few weeks ago, Fox started a contest asking residents from the various Springfields across the country to submit videos arguing why their Springfield should be chosen to host the premiere of the upcoming SIMPSONS MOVIE and after an exhaustive voting period, Springfield, Vermont was chosen as the lucky winner. A 9,000 resident town, it received 15,367 votes, beating runner-up Illinois by a relatively wide margin of 733 votes. Vermont’s winning entry featured a local talk show host dressed as Homer running through town chasing a giant pink, rolling doughnut. Hollywood will converge on Vermont for the premiere on July 21st with the film going wide on July 27th.
