Sin-Jin update

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much of anything with regards to Ethan Dettenmaier’s debut film SIN-JIM SMYTH, so here we go.

The very first review of the film was posted online over the weekend, and while it does praise the film overall, keep in mind that the film itself is still being completed. As with this news comes an explanation of what needs to be done on the film, courtesy of Mr. Dettenmaier himself, with a little help from the guys at Dread Central, who got the scoop from Dettenmaier:

“We have to shoot the opening sequence set in India where – during a dust storm -soldiers of The Indian Army find proof of The Devil, and a factory raid. Since the film takes place under elements similar to a police state, rogue elements from Federal Station 66 raid a tractor factory and eliminate all the members of a resistance movement Known as Tempest V…Killing everyone.”

A police state, eh? Makes me want to go see V FOR VENDETTA even more (I haven’t seen it yet, I’m in college, and I didn’t get my paycheque until today, so go figure). Along with the news update, DC also got a new high-res poster for the film which you can find here. SIN-JIN SMYTH tells the tale of the titular prisoner (played by Korn’s Jonathan Davis) and the devil.

Every Halloween at midnight, the devil simultaneously appears in two places, the high plains of India and a quiet cemetery in Kansas. On November 2nd aka ‘The Day of the Dead’, two federal marshalls report to the town of Shin Bone, Kansas (moments before a tornado warning) to transport Sin-Jin Smyth, a man with no past and no identity.
