Killer Kate! Elliot Feld

Freestyle Digital Media has announced that they have picked up the North American rights to writer/director Elliot Feld's horror film KILLER KATE! The company is planning to release the movie just in time for Halloween, with a VOD and limited theatrical release set for October 26th.

Feld's feature debut, KILLER KATE! is described as "a gripping thriller" that features "strong female leads", who are brought to life by Danielle Burgess, Alexandra Feld, and the legendary Tiffany Shepis.

Feld says his film is, like many genre films being produced these days, a "love letter to the early films of John Carpenter".

Co-written by Daniel Moya, KILLER KATE! centers on

estranged sisters Kate and Angie, who haven’t spoken since Angie went to college and left Kate to care for their ailing father. In a show of reconciliation, several years after moving out, Angie invites Kate to her bachelorette party held at a remote house booked on a home-sharing app. The women are unaware that by booking this house, they’re walking into a trap set in motion by a disturbed family of amateur killers.

Moya produced the film with Elliot Feld, Alexandra Feld, David Feld, and Jesse Pruett, with Lawrence Feld serving as executive producer.

The story of KILLER KATE! sounds familiar, but set-ups like the one it has have served as the basis of a lot of really cool movies, so I'm willing to give this one a chance. Especially with Shepis involved. She's always great, even when the movies aren't. Hopefully KILLER KATE! will be one of the great ones.
