Yup, another STAR WARS: EPISODE VII rumor has surfaced, this time over at Bleeding Cool. The site is reporting that English actor Jack O'Connell (television's Skins, HARRY BROWN, TOWER BLOCK) is a "real contender for a key role" in the upcoming film. They also believe O'Connell has met with J.J. Abrams, and the site believes the meeting went extremely well. Bleeding Cool thinks Jack O'Connell's role might be the same one Matt Smith was up for, but at this time the site isn't sure.

I haven't seen Skins, but I thought Jack O'Connell was excellent in HARRY BROWN. Although O'Connell isn't a huge star, he's done some solid work, and will also be appearing in the upcoming 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE and Angelina Jolie's UNBROKEN. I wouldn't mind seeing the actor in a galaxy far, away, but until we hear an official announcement, this is just another unconfirmed rumor.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will be released on December 18th, 2015.
