Interview: Skyfall’s Judi Dench

JoBloJoBlo

November 9th sees the release of the 23rd James Band adventure, SKYFALL, produced by MGM and Columbia Pictures and directed by Sam Mendes. If you haven’t already heard, the movie is fantastic entertainment, without a doubt one of the finest entries of the franchise.

SKYFALL is Judi Dench’s seventh turn in the Bond films as M, the head of MI6 and James Bond’s supervisor and frequent sparring partner. It’s not always the friendliest of relationships, but it’s founded on respect and unspoken affection, making it one of the more memorable and unique employer/employee couplings in the movies. SKYFALL shows us a different side of M, and puts her into the action as much as it does Bond, which led me to ask Dame Judi what it was like getting deeper into what makes M tick, as well as tackling the intricacies of her special relationship with Craig’s 007. Also, we talked about her firing a gun.
