Slapface trailer: Dan Hedaya horror film comes to Shudder this week

A year and a half has gone by since we shared the poster for writer/director Jeremiah Kipp’s horror film Slapface, but we don’t have to wait much longer before we’ll finally have the chance to watch the movie – actually, we only have to wait until tomorrow! Slapface will be released through the Shudder streaming service on February 3rd. In anticipation of the film’s Shudder debut, a trailer has been released online and can be seen in the embed above.

Slapface stars Dan Hedaya (Blood Simple), August Maturo (The Nun), Libe Barer (Sneaky Pete), Lukas Hassel (The Blacklist), Mirabelle Lee (Madam Secretary), Bianca and Chiara D’Ambrosio (both of The Bay), and Mike C. Manning (MTV’s Teen Wolf). The film tells the story of

Lucas (Maturo) who is being raised by his alcoholic older brother Tom (Manning) after the loss of their parents. Lucas is a troubled and bullied young boy who befriends a monster in the nearby woods and the two develop a dangerous relationship. Barer plays Anna, an outsider in their small town who becomes romantically involved with Tom and who grows increasingly concerned about the welfare of Tom’s little brother. Hedaya plays Sheriff Thurston, a man who has a history with Tom and Lucas’s deceased mother and who feels a responsibility to look out for the well-being of her orphaned children.

Manning produced Slapface alongside Artisha Mann Cooper and Joe Benedetto. Nick Theurer and Bruno Barros were co-producers. Lisa D’Ambrosio, Curtis Braly, Chris Maturo, Alixx Schottland, Nicholas Tocco, Shintaro Shimosawa, and Maha Maturo served as executive producers, with DJ Dodd, Robin Labiak, and Danielle Shapira co-executive producing.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you thought of it by leaving a comment below. Will you be watching Slapface on Shudder? I’ll be renewing my Shudder subscription this month, so I’ll probably give it a look.
