We have an EXCLUSIVE trailer debut for the Canadian Inuit science fiction/ horror flick, Slash/Back, which is directed by Nyla Innuksuk in her feature film debut.
Per the film’s official logline, “In a remote Arctic community, a group of Inuit girls fight off an alien invasion, all while trying to make it to the coolest party in town.” The film stars Melissa Hood, Tasiana Shirley, Chelsea Prusky, Nalajoss Ellsworth, Rory Anawak, Frankie Vincent-Wolfe, and Alexis Wolf and it premiered in 2022 at the South by Southwest Festival in Texas.
Principal Photography on Slash/Back took place on location on Baffin Island in the summer of 2019 and it became the first production to film in the Inuit hamlet of Pangnirtung. The film played to rave reviews at SXSW, with many comparing it to Attack the Block and Stranger Things.So far it has a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and indeed looks like a super funny little coming-age-age, horror/comedy mashup, with an interesting perspective. Slash/Back is scheduled to hit screens and on-demand on June 24, 2022.
