Unfortunately there’s not a whole lot of original flare coming our way in this beloved genre. You can blame Hollywood if you want, or society… hell blame whomever you’d like. Fact is most of the shite that gets turned out nowadays is rehashed. So when we hear word on a semi-original project heading our way, well you can bet we’re going to tell you about it!
The project I’m getting at is a horror/comedy called THE BITCH. According to the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting director James Merendino has already been tapped with the job of directing this one based on a script he penned with producer Lisa Hammer. Peep the rundown:
The flick follows four woman who become stranded in the woods after a car crash. They hole up in a mansion that’s haunted by a malicious spirit called “The Bitch”.
Sounds intriguing enough, right? Now Merendino has got several credits to his name, but his most notable film is probably the 1998 comedy/drama SLC PUNK! So take from that what you will.
Shooting on THE BITCH is set to kick off this March in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I’m guessing there’s a good chance we’ll get some more updates on this one as we near that date so be sure to check back soon.
