Just shy of its 30th anniversary, the 1982 cult classic The Slumber Party Massacre is getting the remake treatment courtesy of Shout! Studios, with the new Slumber Party Massacre set to premiere on Syfy later this year. While the film has domestic distribution all wrapped up, Shout! is teaming with Raven Banner Entertainment to land some international distribution deals, and they'll be presenting the project to potential buyers at the Cannes Film Festival. The Slumber Party Massacre remake sticks with the franchise tradition of being written and directed by women. In this case, the film has been directed by Danishka Esterhazy (The Banana Splits Movie) from a screenplay by Suzanne Keilly (Leprechaun Returns).
