The Bringing Michael Pena

THE BRINGING is not as eager to be brought to screens as its title. The Michael Peña horror-thriller has been dropped by Sony, losing director Jeremy Lovering in the process. While the title is being shopped around to other studios like Lionsgate, New Line, Paramount, and STX Entertainment, it is rumored that screenwriters Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer (STARRY EYES) may be stepping up to direct.

The production date might not change, because Peña is working on a specific window of availability and studios seem interested in keeping the project alive.

THE BRINGING, which is based on the Black List script by Brandon and Phillip Murphy, centers on:

a man (Pena) who is investigating a woman's death set in the notorious and infamous Cecil Hotel.

Matt Tolmach and Daniela Cristina Cretu are producing. More on this story as it develops!
