Looks like Sony is suffering from an all too unrare case of sequilitis. We told you about the planned clusterf*ck, I mean third entry, in the I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER series here. I actually hope they keep making those just because I’m so damn amused at the titles they manage to work out.
Now comes news that HOLLOW MAN 2 is in the works. I gotta say that’s good news to me for a couple of reasons. For one thing, while the original certainly wasn’t a classic, I did think it was a good time and had some outstanding scenes. I also really like the concept of the new one:
The story revolves around a Seattle detective and a biologist who are on the run from a dangerous invisible assassin gone rogue as well as the government forces that created him.
Another plus is that the script is by FEAST producer Joel Soisson (DRACULA II: ASCENSION) who has been specializing in genre sequel work. His work almost always turns out smarter and sharper than it needs to be, so I’ve got a fair degree of confidence he can deliver something tasty.
Speaking of tasty, if you’re reading this Joel, don’t forget to include another scene of the Hollow Man sucking a nipple! I nominate the always tempting Vida Guerra below as the victim.
