Southland Tales date

Holy shelf-life, it feels like I’ve been writing about SOUTHLAND TALES since shortly after I came out of the womb. But now instead of talking about it, we’ll finally get to see Richard Kelly’s long-awaited follow-up to DONNIE DARKO.

TALES is getting thrust onto screens on November 9th of this year, coming dangerously close to the film’s “near future” setting of Summer 2008. The movie features The Rock as an amnesiac action star, Sarah Michelle Gellar as a porn star (that’d be her in character down there) and Seann William Scott as a town cop with a bigger role to play in a conspiracy.

Kelly, who has been telling and selling “prequel” TALES graphic novels at the official MySpace site, will be at Comic Con this week to sign autographs and lament about the misery of Hollywood (one assumes).
