We here at Arrow in the Head were big fans of director Garo Setian’s sci-fi thriller Automation (watch it HERE, read our review HERE), so we’re very glad to hear that he has just wrapped production on another sci-fi project, Space Hunters: The Battle for DeepStar – and today we’re proud to share the EXCLUSIVE first look at images from the film! Ten Space Hunters images can be seen below and feature cast members Michael Pare (Streets of Fire), Olivier Gruner (Nemesis), Sarah French (Blind), Rachele Brooke Smith (Nightmare Shark), Anahit Setian (Automation), Tyler Gallant (Alpha Wolf), Sadie Katz (Wrong Turn 6), and Jed Rowen (Pretty Boy). Plus an alien world and an alien creature!
Garo Setian directed Space Hunters: The Battle for DeepStar from a screenplay by Joe Knetter (writer of Blind and Pretty Boy), based on a story Setian and Knetter crafted together. The film centers on
a father-daughter team of space scavengers who must race against a band of evil mercenaries to reach a mythical freighter.
Elise Muller (Dolls) is also in the cast.
A co-production between Hungry Monster Entertainment, Millman Productions, and Ron Lee Productions, Space Hunters: Battle for DeepStar is being produced by Jeff Miller, Robert Parigi, ‘Evil’ Ted Smith, Ben Stobber, Joanna Fang, Garo and Anahit Setian, Joe Knetter, and Sarah French. Miller also executive produces alongside Ronnie D. Lee.
Miller provided the following statement:
We have an exciting film and cast, doing an ambitious space-set sci-fi movie, a genre not many independent films tackle. With Michael’s Streets of Fire and Olivier’s Nemesis being action classics, we believe those audiences and other sci-fi fans will dig this.”
Uncork’d Entertainment is handling the distribution of Space Hunters and the worldwide sales. We’ll keep you updated on this film as more information is revealed. Hopefully it won’t be long before we can share some release details.
