7 months ago we flashed the trailer for Rodar y Rodar’s Spanish thriller THE BODY at you, today we follow up with some acquisition news and a native release date for the flick. Check it…

According to Screen Daily, DeaPlaneta International closed AFM deals for THE BODY with the UK (Kaleidoscope), Mexico (Star Castle Distribution), Japan (Schochiku), Colombia and Central America (Cineplex), Turkey (Medyavyzion) and Hong Kong (Edko Films). The flick will hit Spanish theaters December 21st, 2013 for all other territories.

From the same crew that brought us JULIA’S EYES and THE ORPHANAGE:

While fleeing in panic, a man is knocked over by a lorry. When the police arrive, they discover that he is the night watchman at a morgue near the site of the accident. When they enter his workplace, they find that one of the bodies, Mayka Villaverde, a society personality, has disappeared from Room 3. A detective is sent in to investigate the disappearance of the woman’s body from the morgue. A storm traps him there with the deceased’s husband — whom he suspects of foul play — as strange phenomena occur.

Still without a U.S. sale, THE BODY had already been dealt in France, Korea, China and Venezuela.
