Spiral: From the Book of Saw TV spots tease impending terror

Lionsgate has just unleashed a slew of new, tense TV spots for their upcoming Saw sequel…reboot…thing, Spiral: From the Book of Saw, which you can check it out at the top of the article! Below is the official synopsis:

A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in SPIRAL, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel "Zeke" Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city's gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer's morbid game.

Honestly, not sure how I feel about this one, but the fact that this was a passion project from Chris Rock makes at least a little intrigued. And as a horror fan who came of age in the mid-2000's, there's some latent nostalgia for the franchise, whether or not the films (especially the sequels) hold up at all anymore.

Meanwhile, Spiral: From the Book of Saw – directed by Darren Bousman (Saws II-IV) – will play a game in theaters May 14th!
