Spiral: From the Book of Saw plays game with box-office

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

According to Box-Office Mojo, last weekend was a bit slow, even by Covid standards…even moreso, considering how many more theaters are opening up and people having access to vaccines. For instance, Spiral: From the Book of Saw only made $8.7 million dollars over the weekend. By comparison, the other last big release – Mortal Kombat – made over $20m million over its first weekend. Still, Spiral nonetheless won the box-office by a wide and healthy margin. Now it's a matter if it has legs or not next weekend.

Here's the official synopsis:

A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in SPIRAL, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel "Zeke" Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city's gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer's morbid game.

Meanwhile, Spiral: From the Book of Saw is playing games in theaters right now!
