It seems like forever ago that I wrote about the monster flick that Guillermo Del Toro’s producing, SPLICE. Directed by CUBE director Vincenzo Natali and starring Academy Award winner Adrien Brody, the film’s about:

Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, [who] defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Named Dren, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.

According to Dread Central, the film started lensing today, snagging Sarah Polley and Delphine Chanéac to co-star along with Adrien Brody. Shortly after reporting on this film back in September, the script got an average monster flick review over at Film Ick, but I suppose we won’t find out until it’s released in 2009. More about this film as it progresses!
