The Amazing Spider-Man 2

If you're wondering why the headline is kind of vague it's because what is old news to one person might be a spoiler for another and it's better to be safe than sorry, especially with all the news about casting and characters for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. So while some of you might know about this villain's appearance in the new movie you probably don't know this new information that has been revealed by Movie Web. You know the drill: do not scroll past the image or you will see spoilers.

A source for Movie Web was on the set for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 during its final days of filming and has discovered that although Chris Cooper will be Norman Osborn in the new film it'll be Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn that suits up as the Green Goblin. There were some rumors last week about Green Goblin's costume and while the design still doesn't thrill me it does sound like something a high school kid would wear and not a sixty year old business man. Although its not like the traditional Green Goblin costume screams professional but you know what I mean.

It surfaced recently that the climax of the new film would have the Green Goblin's first appearance and Movie Web confirms this as well. An Oscorp Power Plant is used by Electro (Jamie Foxx) as his home and is the source of his power in the film.  It'll also serve as the setting for the final battle in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 which will include Gwen Stacy's apparent demise. I say apparent because the source claims there will be a "fake out" death in the climax, saving her actual death for a future film in the series.

It was also revealed that THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will have a post credit stinger that will lead directly into the third movie, although it isn't known who or what will be in the mini-movie.

I've given up trying to understand or figure out how things are going to play out in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. If there's news I'll let you all know of course but I'm not going to give any more opinions on the film until I at least see a trailer.

Directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti and Chris Cooper, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is in theaters May 2nd, 2014.
