It shouldn’t really surprise anyone that a remake of APRIL FOOL’S DAY is in the works, and if you were worried that it might be going straight to DVD, you can now rest assured that it’ll be getting the theatrical treatment. Because I know you’ve been kept up night after night worrying about that.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stage 6 (the newly launched label from Sony) has picked up distribution rights to The Butcher Brothers (Mitch Altieri and Phil Flores) directed remake. Which means, yes… this beast will be seeing the theatrical treatment it so deserves.

Starring Taylor Cole (pictured below), Josh Henderson, and Scout Taylor-Compton, the flick is sticking to the original story of a party where the guests die mysteriously, one by one. If you’ve seen it, then you know it features all the classic slasher elements… but sadly, looses it at the end in one of the lamer endings ever filmed. But that’s just my opinion, of course, I know some peeps who flippin’ loved that shite.

No word on when they expect the flick to wrap, but as it’s currently filming in North Carolina, I smell a late spring release… or maybe even next winter. Click HERE for all the gory details, and stick around for more on the APRIL FOOL’S DAY remake as we hear it!
