About a month ago we got a first glimpse at Marvel comic’s adaptation of Stephen King’s THE STAND (check that out HERE). Today we have the cover art to issues 2 and 3, and boy are they lookin’ good!

With art by Mike Perkins and adapted to the comic-page by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the new new medium of bringing King’s master novel to life is on it’s way to be quite promising. The image above is the teaser cover they had displayed at this year’s Comic Con, with the new covers listed below. I’m loving the image from issue #2, and those dudes in issue #3 are looking bat-shit crazy… as they should!

With the first issue hitting bookstores everywhere September 10th, these new covers are just enough to hold me over and pump me up! I picked up Marvel’s take on King’s THE GUNSLINGER, and was thoroughly impressed–these folks know how to handle the King! Look for the second issue in stores October 8th and the third issue on November 12th.
