Not even two weeks have passed since a movie adaptation of Stephen King’s THE REACH was announced and lookie here – yet another one of the author’s works will be hitting the screens. This time it’s A GOOD MARRIAGE, a short story from the 2010 collection FULL DARK, NO STARS. Atlas International has recently added the movie adaptation to its Cannes slate. Peter Askin is set to direct, while Will Battersby will take up production duties.

Here’s a synopsis of the original story:

Darcy Anderson discovers her husband has been keeping an especially terrible secret for years. What happens when, on a perfectly ordinary evening, all the things you believed in and took for granted are turned upside-down? What do you do and who do you call on when you discover that your good marriage has been built on a nightmare foundation of torture and murder?

With casting already underway, we’ll likely hear more news in the coming months. A GOOD MARRIAGE is tentatively set for a Fall 2013 release.
