And breaking news it is. Word has it that Steven Spielberg has decided to delay the epic undertaking that is ROBOPOCALYPSE, which had a planned release for April of 2014. Fatigue is likely the main cause for the push back, especially all the demands (on and off-set) for LINCOLN, his Best Picture nominee. However, Spielberg isn’t ditching ROBOPOCALYPSE (yet?), but simply feels too rushed for such an expensive endeavor.
As for stars Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway, they’ll either have to wait until ROBOPOCALYPSE is ready, or move on entirely. Also, there’s been rumbling that another script at Warner Bros. called GODS AND KINGS may draw Steven’s attention first. The underlying sentiment being that there’s no rush for ROBOPOCALYPSE.
