It has been seventeen years since Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended its seven season run, but the show's cast member Anthony Stewart Head, who played the title character's mentor Rupert Giles, will soon be dealing with vampires once again.

Head has signed on to star in director Conor McMahon's horror comedy LET THE WRONG ONE IN, which has a title inspired by one of my all-time favorite vampire movies, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN.

The story of this one centers on

16-year-old Matt, who is a little too nice for his own good. When he discovers that his older, estranged brother Deco has turned into a vampire, he's faced with a dilemma: Will he risk his own life to help his sibling, with blood being thicker than water? Or will he stake him before he spreads the infection further?

A Tailored Films and Workshed Films co-production, LET THE WRONG ONE IN is scheduled to begin filming in Dublin next month. Trisha Flood, Ruth Treacy, and Julianne Forde are the producers. The film is being primarily funded by Screen Ireland, in association with MPI Media Group.

I enjoyed McMahon's slasher comedy STITCHES, so the fact that he's going to be making a vampire comedy now is good news as far as I'm concerned. Getting Anthony Stewart Head into the cast of such a project was a great move.
