Stopmotion: Aisling Franciosi of The Nightingale to star in horror film

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Although the upcoming horror project Stopmotion is being promoted with the irritating description "elevated horror", it does sound like this will be one to look forward to. The feature directorial debut of Robert Morgan will star Aisling Franciosi as

Ella Blake, a stop-motion animator struggling to control her demons after the loss of her overbearing mother, who embarks upon the creation of a film that becomes the battleground for her sanity. As Ella’s mind starts to fracture, the characters in her project take on a life of their own.

A film about an animator being tormented by stop-motion characters could be very cool, so here's hoping Stopmotion will turn out that way.

Morgan wrote the screenplay with Robin King. The film is being produced by BlueLight's Alain de la Mata and Christopher Granier-Deferre.

Franciosi's previous credits include The Fall, Game of Thrones, Black Narcissus, and The Babadook director Jennifer Kent's The Nightingale.
