With the success of WOLF CREEK in the land down under and the international acclaim, distributor Arclight is once again dipping into the outback and bringing with it another Aussie horror flick.

According to Variety, Arclight has picked up STORM WARNING, a $3.15-million flick which is set to begin production in Austrailia. The film is about a couple whose outing hits a snag when their boat engine fails and they drift into a mangrove swamp, where they not only face bad weather, but something worse. Written by Everett De Roche (whose credits include PATRICK and RAZORBACK) and produced by Gary Hamilton and Pete Ford, the film will be brought in under Arclight’s Darclight label.

‘Great’, you say, ‘but what about the director?’ Well, you remember the SCREAM-wannabes VALENTINE and URBAN LEGEND? They were directed by Jamie Blanks. Guess what he’s doing? Yep, you got it. Granted, Blanks did a good job with what he was given, so it shouldn’t be all bad. Look for more info on this as we get it.
