It was just earlier today when we shared the news that GHOSTBUSTERS would be making a theatrical re-release later this summer for its 30th anniversary. I guess feeling left out, Paramount is now re-releasing Robert Zemeckis’ FORREST GUMP in IMAX! The release is to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
It's hard to be cynical of this because as “easy” picks go, FORREST GUMP is one of my favorite movies. Do we need to see it on IMAX? Probably not. If you own a home edition you’re probably set; but if you know someone who hasn’t seen the movie (why do you know this person?) then maybe drag them to this version, it could be a lot of fun.
The IMAX re-release of FORREST GUMP will hit September 5th 2014.
Here’s my favorite scene from the movie; I can never hear "Running on Empty" without thinking of Gump.
