Succession Season 4 is happening at HBO! The renewal comes just two episodes into the new season, which drew 1.4 million viewers across all platforms on its premiere. It was the best launch night for any original series since the launch of HBO Max. Analysts have also discovered that Succession returned with a 13% increase in viewership since its season two premiere. Not only is Succession bringing in big numbers for HBO, but it’s also the subject of countless magazine covers and articles across the medium. It’s no wonder that Succession Season 4 is forging ahead.

Succession follows the Roy family, who are known for controlling the biggest media and entertainment company in the world. However, their world changes when their father steps down from the company. The series stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, and J. Smith-Cameron. New cast additions for season three include Adrien Brody, Alexander Skarsgård, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae Kim, Hope Davis, Dasha Nekrasova, and Ella Rumpf.

Here’s the official logline for Succession Season 3:

Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall at the end of Season two, Logan Roy begins Season 3 in a perilous position, scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances. Tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.

Succession is exec produced by Jesse Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy, and Will Ferrell. Jesse Armstrong serves as showrunner.

Now that Succession Season 4 is officially happening, a question remains: Will it be the final season of the hit series? According to writer Georgia Pritchett, that could be the case. “I think the maximum would be five seasons, but possibly more like four,” Pritchett told The Sunday Times. “At this point [Armstrong] is saying only one more [season]. But that happens every time. We’ve got a good end in sight.”

“With each season of Succession, Jesse Armstrong has continued to surpass our wildest expectations, pulling us deeper into the Roy family’s inner sanctum with indelible wit, humanity, and precision,” said Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming. “This season is undoubtedly no exception, and we couldn’t be more excited for all that’s in store in this next season ahead.”
