Suicide Squad Director David Ayer Dubs Jared Leto’s Joker “Majestic”

When THE DARK KNIGHT was in pre-production I recall seeing a blurry photo of Heath Ledger walking to the set in what appeared to be his Joker makeup. People went crazy, and not in a good way. “He looks nothing like the Joker, this is going to be awful” was the gist of it. Then the film came out and everyone found themselves blown away by his interpretation. Now the time has come for a new Joker and I dread having to go through that once again. This is why we can’t have nice things.

David Ayer will be directing the upcoming SUICIDE SQUAD in which Jared Leto will be stepping into the role of the clown prince of crime. David was recently asked on Twitter if he could describe Jared’s portrayal of the Joker in one word.

It’s certainly not the first word that pops into my head when I think of the Joker but colour me intrigued. Jared Leto (who recently discussed his preparations for the role) is definitely an interesting choice but I have no doubt he’ll leave an impression by giving us something very different.

SUICIDE SQUAD is set for an August 5th, 2015 release.
