Summit Entertainment’s Highlander reboot loses director Justin Lin

There can only be one. And that one won’t be Justin Lin.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog director Justin Lin has stepped aside as director on Summit Entertainment’s upcoming HIGHLANDER reboot. Worry not though folks because Lin will still stay attached as executive producer.

It seems with Lin’s massive amount of projects spilling his way he won’t have time to direct HIGHLANDER, so he’s stepped aside as director. This has prompted Summit to go into overdrive looking for a new helmer considering the studio wants to get this project fast-tracked. Apparently they’re looking for a new franchise to take the space of that TWILIGHT SAGA grabage, which will finally be coming to an end next year.

HIGHLANDER basically follows immortal beings battling humans, hunting down one another and collecting more power.

Unfortunately there’s no word on who Summit will be looking at but I’m sure a new director will be signed sooner rather than later. As soon as that news crosses our path we’ll be sure to pass it along to all of you! In the meantime spit some bullets below on who you would like to see helm a HIGHLANDER reboot.
