Indie filmmaking is the cornerstone of our beloved genre. Don’t forget that many classic horror films began as small, independent productions. That’s why we always try to cover horror flicks no matter the budget or names attached. Today we learned of an inspiring story, and you can help make it a success.
Writer/director Matt Sconce made an award-winning short entitled STRICKEN back in 2007. After losing a $5 million deal due to the bad economy, he and his co-producers decided to finance their own feature version of the film. They completed it last year.
As of March 1, the movie is available to some 15 million viewers via Warner Bros/Gravitas On-Demand providers. So if you have services such as Charter, Verion FiOs, A&T U-Verse or Dish VOD, you can check the flick out now. If it does well enough in the first 90 days, it will expand to 35 million viewers on Comcast, Time Warner, Cox and Brighthouse. From there, it could movie to Hulu and Netflix.
So, what do you say? You probably want some details on the flick before rallying behind it, huh? Below you’ll find a rad looking teaser trailer. Here is the official synopsis:
