So how are you guys feeling about Sam Raimi’s OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL? Personally I’m holding out until we see which Sam Raimi shows up for this. Will it be Mr. SPIDER-MAN? DRAG ME TO HELL? Or dare I say THE EVIL DEAD? Time will tell I suppose.
One thing is for sure – Bruce Campbell will be in OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL! Don’t believe me? Check it out from ‘The Chin’ himself:
“I. Am. In. Oz. Sam Raimi refuses to tell me what character I will portray. Just know that the role is PIVOTAL.”
That comes straight from Campbell’s Twitter page, so there you go. Now the question presents itself – who will Campbell play? Let the theories fly below!
“Oz The Great and Powerful” imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
Campbell joins James Franco, Mila Kunis (below), Rachel Weisz, Zach Braff and Michelle Williams in the epic adventure, which already has a March 8, 2013 release date tapped.
