Swamp Thing’s Crystal Reed will have to Escape the Field

Crystal Reed is relocating from the swamp to a cornfield. The actress, who played Abby Arcane in this year's swiftly cancelled Swamp Thing series, has signed on to take the lead role in a thriller called ESCAPE THE FIELD.

Inspired by the popularity of escape rooms (and perhaps also by the success of the movie ESCAPE ROOM), ESCAPE THE FIELD will follow

six strangers who wake up trapped in an endless cornfield only to discover something mysterious is hunting them.

That concept also brings to mind Vincenzo Natali's recent Stephen King adaptation IN THE TALL GRASS, which was released through the Netflix streaming service.

Emerson Moore will be directing ESCAPE THE FIELD from a screenplay he wrote with Sean M. Wathen and J.D. Dobkin.

DDI's Jason Moring and Michael Philip are producing the film under their Cr8tiv Universe banner. DDI is also handling worldwide sales for the project.

Reed's past credits include 48 episodes of Teen Wolf and several episodes of Gotham (pictured above.)
