And now they’re remaking LABYRINTH. No, not the muppet filled Jennifer Connelly/ David Bowie film, but the 2003 French flick. I know, I had you screaming mad there for a split second, didn’t I?
Hilary Swank must have had a good time with THE REAPING to want to dip back into horror, although this LABYRINTH is more of a psychological thriller than anything else. See, it revolves around this mental patient (Swank, I’m assuming) who has mulitple personalities. And each of her personalities holds clues to the whereabouts of a serial killer. Could be cool. Sounds a bit like IDENTITY, but that’s ok because that movie had me on the edge of my seat the whole time- let’s hope that’s what they’re aiming for with this flick.
The same dude who wrote INSIDE MAN is set to write the script (Russel Gewirtz), so you know it’s in good hands. I haven’t seen the original, so I’ll have nothing to compare it to, but as I’m a fan of Swank’s previous work (hell, I even liked THE CORE), and THE REAPING looks like it’ll entertain, I’m actually looking forward to this badboy. So stick around, as we’ll have more info. on LABYRINTH when it hits!
