Ella Purnell is back as serial killer Rhiannon Lewis in the full trailer for Sweetpea Season 2. Sky and Starz have released a new preview for the darkly comic thriller series, which continues the story of the overlooked young woman whose life took a murderous turn in the first season. The new season will arrive on Sky in the UK in November 2026, followed by a Starz debut in the United States in early 2027.

Based on the novel by C.J. Skuse, Sweetpea follows Rhiannon, a woman who has spent much of her life being ignored and underestimated. After being pushed to her breaking point, she discovers an unexpected capacity for violence and begins taking control of her life in increasingly dangerous ways. The series was initially presented as a six-episode limited series, but Starz and Sky Studios renewed it for a second season following its first run.

Season 2 picks up after the deadly events of the first-season finale. Rhiannon is now navigating a promotion at the local newspaper where she works, but her attempts to move forward are complicated by the arrival of a copycat killer who threatens to expose her. As her kill list grows, Rhiannon must also confront a troubling question raised by her ex-boyfriend AJ: Is she a monster?

Purnell, best known for her roles in Fallout and Yellowjackets, returns as Rhiannon. New additions to the cast include Rish Shah (Overcompensating) as Gabriel, Rhiannon’s romantic interest; Tamsin Greig (Riot Women) as Liv, AJ’s mother; Taj Atwal (Riot Women) as Freya, Rhiannon’s formidable new boss at the Carnsham Gazette; and Jenny Walser (Heartstopper) as Daisy, a new friend.

Returning cast members include Jon Pointing (Big Boys), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso), Leah Harvey (Foundation), Ingrid Oliver (Thursday Murder Club), Nitin Ganatra (Mr Bigstuff), and Alexandra Dowling (Game of Thrones).

Sweetpea is produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios. Patrick Walters, Helen Gregory, Iain Canning, and Emile Sherman executive produce for See-Saw, alongside Purnell, director Ella Jones, and Kirstie Swain. Swain was the lead writer on Season 1. Selina Lim takes over as lead writer for Season 2 and serves as co-executive producer, with Emme Hoy, Simon Gillis, and Natasha Heliotis also co-executive producing. Lim is joined in the writing room by Hoy, Anna Jordan, and Laura Jayne Tunbridge.
