Now it’s not surprising that the SyFy Channel has yet another paranormal reality television show in the works. It is surprising that said show will be starring Billy Ray Cyrus.
No folks, unfortunately I’m not joking. It was just announced over at Variety that Cyrus (right) and his son Trace will be toplining a new paranormal series for SyFy called “UFO: Unbelievably Freakin’ Obvious.” The basic idea behind UFO will involve the investigation of conspiracy theories involving unexplained activity and paranormal phenomena. The father and son duo will travel cross-country and offer a skeptical solution to many of the theories. Peacock Productions are gearing up to start shooting the Pilot episode in a few weeks. Cyrus had the following to say on the situation:
“The existence of paranormal phenomena is something I’ve always wanted to explore further. Getting the opportunity to take this adventure with my son, who has always had a keen interest in this area, is a dream come true. I hope this series can shine a light on some of the activities we have questioned, and the mysteries that have long inspired us.”
So there you have it folks. I can honestly say I would’ve never pegged Billy Ray Cyrus as the host of a paranormal reality TV show… But hey, weirder things have happened I suppose. We’ll be keeping our eyes open for more regarding “UFO: Unbelievably Freakin’ Obvious” so be sure to keep it here for that as it comes our way!
