Production on the fifth installment of Sylvester Stallone's RAMBO franchise got underway last week with the actor posting several photos of John Rambo living the ranch-hand life, and Stallone has since posted a new photo from the set which features a nice close look at Rambo's grizzled face topped by a cowboy hat. As far as actors who aren't Sylvester Stallone go, THR has reported that Paz Vega (The OA) has joined the cast of RAMBO 5 as Carmen Delgado, "a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped." This lines up with previous reports which stated that Rambo would be taking on the Mexican drug cartels in the sequel. It's been over a decade since we last caught up with John Rambo, who, in 2008's RAMBO, accompanied a group of mercenaries into war-torn Burma in order to rescue a group of Christian aid workers. After dispatching his own brand of excessively bloody justice, Rambo returned home to the United States to his family's farm. No word on whether that's where we'll find Rambo when RAMBO 5 kicks off, but it's clear that he's been embracing the farm life.
Sylvester Stallone will next be seen reprising his other famous role, Rocky Balboa, in CREED II on November 21, 2018.
