As you may have noticed, we lessened our action content on AITH in 2010, wanting to go back to our roots and focus more on our raison d’etre: HORROR.
But there are some films that beg for exceptions and one of them is SYLVESTER STALLONE’S BEST OF REAL MEN upcoming action flick THE EXPENDABLES (to be released on August 13, 2010).
A test screening of the picture recently went down and the word is good so far if we go by the feedback I found at the Sly site StalloneZone. And I quote:
Ethelmae said: :… THE ACTION IS C R A Z Y!!!… Mickey Rourke steals every scene he is in … Sly and Jason Statham create an on screen chemistry we haven’t seen in many a moon…
And some other dude had complaints: Stallone set out to do a straight-up homage to 80’s macho action hero flicks. The problem is he sticks so close to that formula and makes no concessions for the changes that have taken place in the last 20 years, he actually creates a movie that suffers for its commitment to being a throw back

The Expendables was written and directed by Stallone and it stars: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Brittany Murphy and Bruce Willis…to name a few. CAN’T F*CKING WAIT!
